Takeoff, a rapper from the group Migos, was shot and killed outside a private party in Houston, according to authorities.
One-third of the platinum-selling rap group Migos, Takeoff, was shot and died early on Tuesday in Houston, Texas, according to the authorities. He was 28.
Around 2:34 a.m., police were alerted to a shooting that was taking place. Troy Finner, the chief of the Houston Police Department, stated as much during a news conference on Tuesday. When police got at the 810 Billiards & Bowling Houston, where a private party was taking place, they discovered a dead male on the premises.
A 23-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were also hurt in the shooting and went to the hospital on their own, according to Sgt. Michael Arrington of the police department's homicide branch. Their wounds weren't life-threatening.
When a huge crowd of people gathered at the after-party location, staff members reported to police that an argument occurred.
At the time of the incident, at least 40 persons were there, according to Finner.
According to Arrington, "a number of folks who were there fled the area and didn't remain around to give a statement."
The deceased man was identified by Finner as Kirshnik Khari Ball, better known by his stage name Takeoff of the rap trio Migos.
