Erich and Daniel Matsunaga: What you see is what you get

MANILA – Although Daniel Matsunaga and Erich Gonzales have yet to go public about the status of their relationship, the sister of the Japanese-Brazilian model has confirmed that the two are indeed dating.

On Tuesday, entertainment site Pep was able to talk to Daniel’s sister Vanessa, who fondly shared how Gonzales has won their hearts.

According to Vanessa, Gonzales makes her brother "very happy."

“And because he’s very happy, I already love her for that. Daniel is very happy,” she said. "And my mom is very, very proud that Daniel is very happy, and Erich is a good girl. Actually, my mom is such a fan of Erich already. She’s such a sweet girl.”

Vanessa, however, clarified that her brother had nothing to do with Gonzales’ split with her non-showbiz boyfriend.

“Daniel always respects the fact that she had a boyfriend before and they were just friends. I think they just started growing fond of each other after she broke up. And I don’t really know her story that well with the boyfriend. I never spoke to her about that. I think I’m not in position to ask her anything about that,” she said.

Asked if she thinks Daniel and Gonzales would eventually end up marrying each other, Vanessa said: “It’s too soon to talk about that.”

“Daniel is very nice to all of his girlfriends in the past. He’s very loyal and not just to a girlfriend, but to everyone in general. He really treats them with dignity and he respects people and his friends. And so he really likes Erich, and she’s a good girl, and they are dating now,” she explained.

On Tuesday, Daniel had fans rejoicing when he appeared to admit his special relationship with Gonzales following weeks of speculation about their status.

On Instagram, the "Pinoy Big Brother" winner once again shared a photo of him with Gonzales, this time captioned with his thoughts on how to ensure a romantic relationship lasts.

Dubbed "DanRich" by their followers, the two first worked together in March 2014 as guest co-hosts of "Kris TV."
